The land and marine aquaponics system developed by the Ph.D.-level research team in Marine Ecology at Seoul National University is based on technologies that combine the optimal growth environments for plants and fish, ranging from the establishment of big data-driven cultivation environments to cross-cultivation techniques under both freshwater and seawater conditions. Second, microorganisms convert fish waste into nutrients, enabling plants to grow well without the need for chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Third, the cultivation water is recirculated, meaning no water is wasted. Therefore, there are no concerns about environmental pollution from wastewater. Fourth, because it is grown indoors, it is not affected by external environmental conditions, effectively blocking pollutants from outside.
